Who is the HS baseball player of the year



The Upstate was packed with high school baseball talent during the 2025 season. Here are the All-Upstate first and second teams, and the player of the year. Each team has three pitchers, one catcher, and nine other position players.

Player of the Year

Carson Bolemon

Southside Christian, Jr.

Why chosen: Bolemon led Southside Christian to the Class AAA state championship. In 55.1 innings, the left-handed pitcher allowed only six hits, all singles, and no earned runs.

Bolemon was at his best in the playoffs. He pitched a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts in the Upper State finals and a no-hitter with 19 strikeouts in the state title game. He finished the season 11-0 with 135 strikeouts and eight walks. At the plate, Bolemon hit .374 with seven home runs, 11 doubles and 35 RBIs.


Bolemon was named the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year and is committed to Wake Forest. 

Pitchers

Josh Carlson

J.L. Mann, Jr.


Why chosen: Carlson is a pitcher who went 7-0 with a 0.30 ERA. In 46.1 innings he struck out 54 with 10 walks and 17 hits allowed.

Seth Manning

T.L. Hanna, Sr.

Why chosen: Manning, a South Carolina signee, is a pitcher was 5-0 with a 0.93 ERA. In 30 innings, he struck out 46 and allowed five walks.




Catcher

Peter Mershon

Eastside, Sr.

Why chosen: Mershon, a Mississippi State signee, is a catcher who batted .409 with two homers, 15 doubles and 17 steals. He had 34 walks to nine strikeouts.

Infielders/Outfielders

Coleman Brown

Dorman, Sr.

Why chosen: Brown is an infielder who batted .385 with four home runs, 26 RBIs and nine doubles for a team that went 22-7. He signed with Benedict.



Will Cauthen

Southside Christian, Sr.

Why chosen: Cauthen, the Sabres’ leadoff hitter, batted .438 with five home runs, 39 runs scored, 30 RBIs and 13 stolen bases.

Tripp Cook

Crescent, Sr.


Why chosen: Cook is an outfielder who batted .477 in 65 at-bats with two homers, six doubles, 19 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.

Will Craddock

T.L. Hanna, Sr.

Why chosen: Craddock, a South Carolina signee, is an infielder who hit .453 with eight homers, 22 RBIs and 10 steals for a team that went 20-9, 13-2 in Region 1-AAAAA.

Palmer Hornick

Dorman, Jr. 

Why chosen: Hornick, a Virginia Tech commit, is an infielder who batted .398 with six homers, nine doubles, 24 RBs and eight stolen bases. He also had a 1.82 ERA with six saves.

Kaden Jones

Travelers Rest, Jr.

Why chosen: Jones, is an infielder who committed to the College of Charleston, hit .545 in 89 plate appearances with three home runs and eight stolen bases.


Carter Kelly

Fountain Inn, Jr.

Why chosen: Kelly is an infielder who batted .384 with five homers, seven doubles, three triples, 28 RBIs and six steals for a team that went 25-7, including 13-2 in Region 1-AAAA.

Cooper Noble

Riverside, Sr.

Why chosen: Noble is an infielder who led the state with 12 home runs, drove in 33 runs and hit high doubles. He signed with North Greenville.

Dawson Siffri

J.L. Mann, Sr.

Why chosen: Siffri, who signed with Western Carolina, is an infielder who batted .429 with six home runs, eight doubles and 22 RBIs.
