The Greenville County Historical Society is moving in January to 644 East Washington Street, a well-preserved century-old residence in the heart of the Pettigru District.
And just in time because, according to John Nolan, President of the Board of Directors, their collections have grown, our programs have expanded, and we've outgrown our current space.

Nolan said this move represents more than just additional square footage. The move embodies our commitment to historic preservation. What better home for the Historical Society than a piece of Greenville's architectural heritage itself?
What This Means to its Mission:
More space for our expanding archives and collections
Enhanced facilities for research and public programs
Continued dedication to digitization and preservation
An accessible, historic setting that embodies our values and vision
Nolan said we're deeply grateful to Katherine Fayssoux for hosting us these past seven years, and we're excited about this next chapter. This move builds on the momentum from your overwhelming support of our strategic vision, and positions us to serve our community even more effectively.
Special thanks, Nolan added, to Pat Paschal and the Price Law Firm, our new landlord and fellow tenant, for making this opportunity possible.
The Society and its supporters are committed to preserving and sharing Greenville County's rich history for generations to come, Nolan said.
