Approved with conditions: 426 North Main development located on the corner of Academy and North Main.
A major mixed-use development is proposed to serve as a gateway into the north end of downtown Greenville.
Plans for the project, referred to as 426 North Main, consist of three buildings with a parking deck along North Main Street and Academy Street. The development would be built on the former Greenville Municipal Court property and the existing American Legion site.
Kavneet Sethi with Green Property LLC and David Gaber with Bijou Properties are the developers behind the project. Greenville-based Johnston Design Group serves as the project’s architect.
The board conditionally approved the site plan and massing for two of the project’s buildings after more than a dozen residents spoke against the project. Concerns were raised about the project’s impact on traffic, its massing compared to its residential neighbors and its proximity to Springwood Cemetery and the Kilgore-Lewis House.
