Fluor Field and Fifth Third Park made the best ballpark list

Greenville’s Fluor Field and Spartanburg’s Fifth Third Park have earned top spots in Newsweek’s best Single-A ballparks list for 2025.

The Top 10 list was compiled from fan input with nominations for the top spots made by Newsweek editors and contributors. The final rankings identifying the top ballparks in the country were voted on by readers.

Fluor Field, home to the Greenville Drive, clinched the No. 3 spot on the list. Celebrating its 20th year as a West End anchor, the miniature replica of Boston’s Fenway Park is a fan favorite and the beating heart of one of the city’s most vibrant districts.

Cited for its “charm and perfect mix of vintage vibes with modern flair,” the ballpark features a 30-ft-high “Green Monster” hand-operated scoreboard in left field, “Pesky’s Pole” in right field, and a contiguous entertainment district known as District 356. Newsweek also cited the ballpark’s “massive video screen for instant replays, classic ballpark snacks, zany between-inning games and a dazzling post-game fireworks show” as reasons for the top ranking.

Fifth Third Park, home to the Hub City Spartanburgers and celebrating its first year of operations, came in at No. 6 on the list.

Readers cited the “open concourses for easy strolls, a kid-friendly play zone and a trendy second-level club” as among the reasons for the ranking. The Spartanburg ballpark is the latest in nearly $1 billion in economic development projects revitalizing the city’s downtown.
