SC7 is a 30-day expedition designed to get people outdoors to gain an appreciation of the Palmetto State’s natural beauty and be inspired to become involved with protecting that beauty. A partnership between nonprofits Global Eco Adventures and the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor, SC7 is led by renowned explorer and S.C. native Tom Mullikin.

Using the state-spanning Palmetto Trail as its guiding route, the expedition showcases a variety of the state’s most iconic landscapes, including the seven geographic wonders the expedition is named for:

  • Chattooga River

  • Sassafras Mountain

  • Jocassee Gorges

  • Congaree National Park

  • Edisto River

  • ACE Basin

  • Bull Island

The 2025 SC7 expedition begins in Oconee County July 1 with a hike of the Oconee Passage.

The Greenville County portion of SC7 begins July 8 with a hike in Jones Gap State Park before coming to Greenville July 9 for a hike from Unity Park to Falls Park and concluding with a tour of the Roper Mountain Science Center.
