The City of Greenville, South Carolina recently unveiled a mural of Peabo Bryson. The mural is on a wall at the Commons in Unity Park. Bryson was born here.

Bryson won two Emmys: Tonight I Celebrate My Love and A Whole New World.
When asked about coming home, Bryson says in his heart he never left home.
Senator Karl Allen punctuated the importance of the mural to the community. The mural is a collaboration of three local artists: Faith Hudgens, RaAmen Stallings and Orlando Corona.
As a young person, Bryson said he recognized that music transcends politics, religion, and social woes. Thus he started his career in the 1960s with Moses Dillard.
His body of works includes more than 20 albums. Kaylah Pecheco and Loretta Holloway sang at the event.
Further honoring Bryson, the City of Greenville has named a street after him. Also Mayor Knox White presented Bryson with a key to the city.
