Brave souls at the Greer Starbucks stand up to corporations, demanding more workers to ease the workload.
The location on Hammett Bridge and Suber Roads recently voted in favor of better wages, guaranteed staffing levels, and improved work protections.

The risks to unionize include stalled negotiations, potential retaliation allegations, reduced hours, and operational disruptions stemming from ongoing, national labor disputes.
This location is the seventh store in South Carolina to ask for a union, including the store on Pelham Road. There are 580 unionized stores nationwide out of 16,868.
The manager and staff expressed appreciation for support and public goodwill. Customers can rally in support of their affairs.
Workers are asking for a minimum hourly wage of $17, and transparent annual raises. Some locations start at $15.25 or $16.00 in 43 states. Some workers have to apply for SNAP or Medicaid when they don’t get enough hours to pay rent or qualify for healthcare.
All this pressure comes when the corporation has laid off 2,000 workers and closed hundreds of stores
