Spartanburg quarterback Trey Burke announced his commitment to East Carolina University on June 21.
"I am blessed and very grateful to say that I am 1000% committed to ECU," Burke posted on X. "Thank you to all the people that helped me get to this point in life. Go Pirates!!"
Burke is the second quarterback out of Spartanburg High School to commit to ECU. Former Vikings QB Raheim Jeter committed in 2022 and has played there since 2023.

Burke, listed at 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, is a three-star recruit and is ranked No. 34 amongst South Carolina players from the class of 2026 according to 247 Sports. Burke reportedly also has an offer from East Tennessee State University.
This past season, Burke threw for 1,065 yards with 11 touchdowns in nine games, completing 57% of his passes. He led the Vikings to a 9-3 record, including 5-1 in Region 2-AAAAA. Spartanburg made it to the Upper State finals but lost 24-0 to eventual champion Dutch Fork.
