Both the boys’ and girls’ swim teams consistently win state championships, continuing a dynasty. The boys’ team won its 11th consecutive state title in 5A-Division 2 State Championships in October 2025, and the girls’ team won its eighth title in 10 years.

For 2025, the girls' soccer team won its third consecutive state championship in May, beating Chapin 3-2 in overtime.

Wrestling

Eastside High School’s wrestling dynasty, which includes winning nine consecutive state championships, is built on a few key factors. These include sustained coaching stability under Jack Kosmicki, a challenging regular-season schedule to prepare for postseason play, a strong youth wrestling pipeline, and a consistent mindset of continuous improvement.

Kosmicki says the program maintains a strong relationship with local youth wrestling programs, which helps develop talent from a young age.  Eastside wrestlers often return to coach the younger athletes, creating a constant flow of skilled wrestlers who are familiar with the program.

Team attitudes: “Next Man UP”

Eastside’s team consistently fields a full lineup of competitors, even with freshmen.  The program emphasizes continuous improvement and focuses on each wrestler doing their job rather than relying on a few superstars, a strategy that has repeatedly paid off in state championships, Kosmicki said.
