Play is as natural as breathing. Just go to the park and watch children at play.
A recent visit to the Greenville Pavilion Recreation Center in Taylors shows that very clearly.
Children of all ages enjoy play. We are all, in fact, children at heart, though gray, bald, and ailing. Still, we love to play.

Here are some recent pictures that speak louder than words, affirming the universal need to play.

What a marvelous facility the Pavilion is.

According to a statement from the Pavilion, more than 300,000 visit the Pavilion each year. The last remodel was in 2020 at $4.5 million from the Greenville hospitality tax. Several new rocker rooms, more office space, and a new ceiling were added. Since it was built in 1990, the Pavilion has tripled in size, said Jai Gililand, facility manager.

The Pavilion’s ice rink is one of three in the state. Since the remodel, tournaments are welcome to use this venue for hockey.
Also inside are pickleball courts and space for many other games. Outside are soccer fields, playgrounds with swings, slides, carousels, tennis courts and basketball courts, canopies, tables, benches, and more.
