High School wide receiver Amiri Acker commits to Liberty University

Updated: Nov 17

IVA, S.C. A high school standout recently announced his commitment to Liberty University.

Crescent’s Amiri Acker announced his plans to attend Liberty after he received more than 20 offers from D1 programs across the country. The wide receiver said a recent visit to the campus helped him make his decision.

Acker said, “Around this time last year, Coach Washington started talking to me, and I went there for an official visit last weekend, and that was great,” said Acker. “All the coaches were cool. They didn’t sugarcoat anything. It’s really just that relationship, going up there to visit, it was just a great time,” he said

The 6-foot-2, 186-pound wide receiver enters his final season with the Tigers as the No. 12 overall player in the state, according to 247Sports, after racking up 604 yards (21.6 YPC) and six touchdowns in his junior season.  Crescent head coach Sheldon Evans said Acker, despite much recognition, has stayed humble through it all.
