Art patron William “Skeet” Jiggetts has opened a new art museum in Philadelphia, PA.

I asked Jiggetts what his involvement is with the museum.

He said, 'I am the Founder of the Museum of African-American Art Collections. It was my idea. I brought the collectors together, secured the location, and assembled the team. Without that team, though, none of this would have happened. It's my dream, but they made it come true.

There are four collectors in this show
Diana Tyson - University Professor
Dr Robyn Jones and Adrian Moody (married couple) Physician/Attorney
Stephanie Daniel - School Teacher and Tennis Coach.
W “Skeet” Jiggetts - Arts Patron and Tax Accountant.

The 24 exhibits were created by predominantly African American artists, with one African and one Nicaraguan artist also represented.

Who owns items?
Each collector curated their own contribution. I asked Jiggetts, What is involved with curating artwork? He explained that when an artist "curates their own work," it means they select, organize, and present their own art—often in an exhibition or online—to convey a specific idea, theme, or narrative, essentially taking control of their artistic context and how their creations are perceived by an audience. This can involve researching, managing, and presenting their pieces to create a cohesive and meaningful experience.

Diana - portraiture
Moody Jones - abstract
Stephanie - masters
Skeet - collage and assemblage

Will the collection be traveling?
This show will not travel. The MAAAC will feature rotating exhibitions, showcasing different collections and artworks with each display.

Jiggetts said the value of the collection is about $250,000.
What next?

The next show will be in February and March of 2026

What can we expect from the next show?
The next show is titled "Tactile: Things that make you want to touch them.”
