Wildfire smoke is driving seniors indoors for a spell. Yes, if you are older than 64, have asthma, COPD or other respiratory ailments, you do well to lay low until further notice because of accessive smoke and air pollution caused by wildfire smoke at Table Rock, authorities said.

Greenville residents have reported seeing ash, thick smoke, and an unsettling haze above.


You can see the black smoke above Paris Mountain now.


Winds are a factor in the spread of wildfires. There is no forecast of rain until Sunday, report meteorologists.


Authorities assure us that the water is good and will continue to be safe.  There are alternative sources of public drinking water, if circumstances demand it.   


There is nothing that threatens our water purity.  And even if it were, it would be removed by our filtration system.


Check the air quality and the weather closer than normal until things settle down.


Many elderly were already reeling from the high pollen before the wildfires ignited.


Now the toxic air is over the limit for the elderly and the sick. Take no chances, is the best advice. Stay indoors as long as possible. Wait for clearer days.
