Two more charged with Juneteenth deadly shooting in Anderson

Two additional teenagers were arrested in connection with a shooting at a Juneteenth festival in Anderson County, South Carolina.


Three people are now in custody after deputies accused them of shooting into a crowd during a festival.

Deputies arrested two more teens late June 25 in connection with the Juneteenth Festival shooting that killed a mother of three. Kamiryn Ty'Zierriun Goss, 18, and Keeayatas Shameski Geer, 19, both of Anderson, were charged with murder and nine counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, according to a press release from the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting resulted in the death of 35-year-old Laporshia Janae Gray Cobb and injured nine others.

  • The suspects, two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old, are facing charges of murder and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

  • One suspect had bond denied, while the other two have a bond hearing scheduled.

The Anderson County Coroner's Office has identified Laporshia Janae Gray Cobb, a 35-year-old woman from Anderson, as the person who was killed. Cobb died after a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to the coroner's office. 








Investigators said evidence and witnesses led them to name Geer and Goss as additional suspects.

Deputies said the gunshots also hit nine other people, with one in critical condition.

Several hundred gathered along Scarborough Road throughout the day on June 21 for a Juneteenth celebration. As more people arrived at about 7 p.m., Anderson County Sheriff Chuck McBride said, an argument ensued in the parking lot. Multiple shots were fired, sending people scrambling.












Late June 22, deputies arrested Tiyelle Rakelle Demon Hollings, 18, of Anderson. He was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Hollings was involved in an altercation after 10 p.m. on June 21 on Scarborough Road and was one of the people who fired shots before fleeing from the scene, police said. 



The three men are held at the Anderson County Detention Center. Magistrate Court Judge James White denied Hollings' bond on June 23. Goss and Geer's bond hearing was scheduled on June 26 at the Anderson County Magistrate Courthouse.
