The Phillis Wheatley Center conducts free lessons for seniors to learn how to use the Internet at their facility at 335 Greenacre Rd in Greenville, and thus helps close the digital divide.

According to a PEW report, persons over 65 are the largest demographic that does not use the Internet. Of that group, for every 7 whites, there are 9 Blacks who do not use the Internet, according to the report. Also, income, education, and location are other influential factors that keep seniors off the Internet.
