Love History, Live in the Moment

I love history, but I have to live in the moment. While honoring the past, we need to be careful to give careful consideration to the history that is being made right before our eyes.

Just look at the young and talented men, women and children on the world stage. Imagine all the confused and distracted souls who failed to recognize the great ones of the past.

So, we need to take time to appreciate the person before us now.

Getting to know our peers is priceless.

Take no one for granted. Tall, short, thin, robust, dark and light — we are all different, and valuable in our own way. We need each other to cover our flaws and minimize them while accentuating our strength, making them shine to the full.

While one person reads like Morgan Freeman, another sings like Stevie Wonder, and plays like Lebron James, or Jalen Hurts or Patrick Mahomes.

Could another Cornell West or Henry Louis Gates be budding right before us? Don’t let appearances fool you.  Look deeper. Listen. Enjoy.  Savor. the moment and marvel.
