Meet entrepreneur Mick Hunt

Hunt recalled his younger days of living on the Brushy Creek side of Easley, where he attended West End Elementary, Easley Middle School, and graduated from Liberty High School.

"At 10 years old," Hunt said, "I made a vow to myself, after seeing my mom being emotionally and physically abused, I promised to change her life, to bring peace to my family, and to forge a legacy that my siblings and I could be proud of."

"This commitment drove me to be ultra-competitive about everything," Hunt said.

"I had to be the best, whether it was in sports, academics, or any challenge that I faced," he said. "I grew up fast because I knew I had to be more than just a 10-year-old or a teenager. I had to be a success."

This drive and determination shaped Hunt's journey, fueling his ambition to excel in every aspect of life.

At 16, while sitting in a doctor's office, a magazine with Daymond John on the cover changed his life forever.

"Seeing Daymond's story, someone who looked like me and was successfully building businesses, ignited my entrepreneurial spirit," Hunt said. "It was a pivotal moment that made me realize that I, too, could achieve great things.

He went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina, where he earned a degree in Business Administration, determined to follow in Daymond's footsteps and carve out his path in the business world.

After college, he began working as an insurance agent for a nationwide company based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he started as a sales manager, Hunt said.

"As I grew older, I realized that I was helping the owner build his dream and legacy," he said.

"This realization pushed me to take the leap into entrepreneurship and carve out my own path," Hunt said.

At 27, he started his first business as an independent insurance agent, determined to build something he could call his own.

"From that moment on, I never looked back, constantly striving to expand and grow my ventures," he said.

What is included in Lead Loud Summit?

According to keynote speaker Les Brown, Hunt is one of the most critical voices of our time—"bold, authentic, and necessary."

"Lead Loud isn’t just an event," Brown said. "It’s the standard for how leadership must sound, feel, and move in today’s world.”

  • Unfiltered Fireside Chats featuring Les Brown, Robert Irvine, and more—hosted by Mick Hunt

  • Leadership & Culture Panels featuring bold insights on building high-performing teams, recruiting the right talent, and fostering loyalty that lasts.

  • A real-world crash course in modern leadership.

Hunt explained that his vision is to establish Greenville as the epicenter of leadership in the Upstate, creating more leaders, entrepreneurs, and mentors.

"Mentorship provides young people with invaluable wisdom and guidance, as well as shortcuts to success," Hunt said. "It is like taking the elevator to success instead of the stairs."

He recommends that young people surround themselves with multiple mentors and coaches who can help them achieve their full potential.

“Mick Hunt has created something special in the Upstate, a place where leaders are challenged to grow, think, and lead differently," said Robert Irvine. "I’m proud to join him and bring real, unapologetic conversations to the table.”

What should participants bring to the Lead Loud Summit?

Participants should come prepared with comfortable clothing suitable for a day of active engagement.

A fully charged phone is essential for accessing event materials and taking advantage of networking opportunities.

Additionally, bringing a pen and notebook is recommended for those who prefer to jot down notes during the workshops and discussions.

“In sports and life, it’s mindset that separates the good from the great," said David Pollack. "At Lead Loud, we’re breaking the old playbook and showing leaders how to build influence that outlasts any scoreboard.”
