GSP Abuzz with Construction and Growth

GSP construction dust is settling down, and the grounds are looking good again now that a $97 million construction project is nearing completion.
In February of last year, according to Tiffany Cherry, airport spokesperson, GSP started construction to add new lanes in front of the terminal for drop-off and pickup passengers.
The airport also is making progress with a third parking garage, which will also house car rentals.
Cherry said that last year the airport saw 2.8 million passengers. This year, she said, the airport expects more than three million passengers.
So, the airport plans to add two more runways and a new concept restaurant, featuring local cuisine.
The Children’s Museum has partnered with the airport in developing a play area for children, Cherry said.
In the spring, the airport plans to add a new concept restaurant with location fare.
