Greenville is using federal, state, and local funds for sidewalk construction and repairs

Greenville received $1.35 million federal grant (from the FHWA’s Transportation Alternatives Program) for the Overbrook subdivision neighborhood’s Lowndes Hill Road project, part of a larger $3.4M effort, and uses its own Neighborhood Infrastructure Bonds (NIB), totaling $55M for various projects including roads and sidewalks, with federal/state marches often adding significant funds like the $16M in matches. The city actively seeks federal and state grants, combining them with local funds to support major projects, such as sidewalk expansion and traffic improvements.
