Greenville Doctor to Appear on "Survivor"

A Greenville doctor is taking a break from working in the OR to test his skills in a new field.

Cedrek McFadden, a board-certified colorectal and general surgeon and associate professor of surgery with Prisma Health, will embark on the ultimate test of survival on CBS's upcoming season of "Survivor."

"Med school is tough, and 'Survivor' was a way for me to destress and to know at least for one hour a week, I had a break," McFadden said in the "Survivor" preview. "And there's a point in your life at which you say, 'Ok, you have your family, you have the profession that you want, this is it.' And in reality, until the day you're called home, live life. And so I want to come in with that same passion to play this game."
