Fire razed Hooters Anderson to the ground

Updated: Nov 17

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. —

The Hooters restaurant on Interstate Boulevard in Anderson County, South Carolina, is a total loss after a fire Monday morning.

Officials said three departments were dispatched: the Zion Fire Department, the Centerville Fire Department, and the Sandy Springs Fire Department, as well as a ladder team, the typical response for a commercial building fire.

The Sandy Springs fire chief said crews were dispatched at 4:17 a.m. Monday.

Officials said no one was inside and there are no injuries.

Officials said this is the third time in two months crews have been called to this location for an electrical fire, and the second time in 24 hours. Crews were at the Hooters at 10:40 p.m. Sunday in a different part of the building. They said an officer was responding to a different call and saw the fire.

The three fires happened after the building underwent renovations, which officials said could be correlated, but they're not sure.

They will be on scene Monday as they monitor what's left of the fire.
