CommunityWorks awards small businesses

CommunityWorks held its second annual small business award program in May. This nonprofit organization provides financial and educational support to help women and minorities start and grow businesses.

Full Page Development received the Emerging Small  Business Award, and ReFlight LLC garnered the Community Champion Award. LaRue Fine Chocolate won the Business Excellence Award.

Twelve businesses were nominated. Sponsors were Pinnacle Financial Partners, Fifth Third Bank, and Count on Us Controller Services.

CommunityWorks, founded in 2008, has generated more than $449 million in economic growth in the Upstate.

The nonprofit has helped over 10,000 families through small- and micro-business loans, financial and business coaching, affordable housing, community lending, and down payment assistance.
