Boil water advisory following water main break in Spartanburg
The Spartanburg Water System (SWS) experienced a water main break on June 23, following an accident involving a contractor working in the area, which has caused some customers to experience service interruptions or low water pressure.
The affected water main is being repaired as quickly as possible, according to a release by the Spartanburg Water System. Once restored, the affected area will be thoroughly flushed and tested to ensure that no contamination has occurred.
According to the news release, there has been no confirmed contamination of the water system in this area.

Customers are advised to boil water intended for drinking or cooking vigorously for at least one full minute before use, according to the news release. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice. The affected customers are located in or around the following areas in Spartanburg, Inman, and Wellford.
