The Hispanic Alliance held an educational luncheon on Tuesday at Prisma Health in Unity Park. Many local businesses are providing vital information and contacts to help the community prosper.

Matthew Verley, senior vice president of the Bank of Travelers Rest, said his entire staff at one office speaks Spanish to better serve the large Spanish-speaking community there.

Dr. Jeffrey G. Lawson, also present at the meeting, is a rheumatologist. While educating Latinos and treating their conditions, he alerts patients to local issues so they can be thoughtfully engaged in improving the community at large.

Prisma Health specialists such as Camila Peres and Karina Sheehan implement initiatives to help Latinos adjust to Greenville. They focus on providing culturally tailored care and navigating healthcare systems.
