Shay Black Expression sees art everywhere she looks. It follows, therefore, that she loves all genres, media, and forms of art.
Because Shay is endlessly experimenting with new art forms and taking classes of all kinds, it was inevitable that she would teach a wide range of art.

That’s where I caught up with her on Monday, teaching a pottery class of several women.
She teaches clay classes at The Greer Center for the Arts on Mondays from 10-1.
She practices her craft in her home-based studio located in Greenville, South Carolina, near downtown.

After more than three decades of military service, including deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait, Shay used her veteran’s education benefits to pursue her passion for art. So, she allowed the US government to cover the cost of her art education.

You have to be impressed with the work of the students. If the students are above average, for good reason, they came to learn from the master to take them to the next level.

Additionally, Shay paints, sculpts, works with ceramics, and much more. She earned a degree in art education from Greenville Tech, got a BA in ceramics and metal sculpture from Converse College, and a degree in creative writing.

Ponder the rarity of the gift so generous as to allow you to earn a living from art. Imagine having that much fun is actually legal—bean counters, eat your hearts out.

Please take a good look at her website, iamshayblack.com, and drool.
