“Grand Jeté is unique in South Carolina. It’s the one event where high school juniors and seniors can showcase their abilities to a wide range of recruiters at once,” said Elizabeth Wright, director of the event. “It offers an incredible chance for students interested in summer incentives or college dance programs to be seen and even considered for scholarships.”

Dance students from across South Carolina are invited to attend the weeklong event celebrating classical and contemporary dance.

A solo competition for dancers ages 10 to 19 will be held on Oct. 4 and 5. Prizes for the competition total $4,000 in the classical ballet, modern/contemporary dance, and student choreography categories.

Elizabeth Wright, director of the Grand Jeté, said the event is not just a competition but an opportunity for the dance community to come together, learn from one another, and showcase their exceptional talent.

The Grand Jeté will also hold Master classes in ballet, modern dance, and contemporary dance along with teacher workshops.

Those who wish to participate in the Grand Jeté can sign up online until Sept. 10. For more information, visit scgsah.org/residential-high-school/dance/grand-jete.
