It is no accident that Rigsby’s Classic Rock Cafe will become the entertainment hub of Spartanburg. That’s because Jeff Rigsby, owner and driving force behind the company, knows what he’s doing. He has the wherewithal, the right team, experience, and dynamic drive to pull it off. Something extraordinary is happening right before your eyes.

After selling off more than 120 Bojangles restaurants in 2025, the company established a presence in Spartanburg by purchasing the building at 106 W. Broad St. on Morgan Square.

The results of the yearlong renovation project were revealed last night. Airy ceilings, glittering lights, shiny floors, decorative walls with life-size posters of Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, and other rock stars set the tempo that the action is here and now in this new venue for entertainment.

As you enter the spacious building, you see the restaurant, bar, tables and chairs, wide aisles, and a welcoming vibe.

The loft contains space for private parties with its own bathroom and amenities.

Below is a modern bowling alley with tables, chairs, and gaming events.

In the back is a grand event room with a broad stage and dance floor for many.

Standby for the announcement about the grand opening.

At age 16, Jeff Rigsby landed a job as a cook for Kentucky Fried Chicken. He knew he was onto something big.

He then found a spot at Bojangles in 1994. Relishing the team atmosphere, Rigsby worked his way up to purchasing six Bojangles restaurants in the Asheville, NC area in 2001.

He thus fulfilled his lifelong dream, but Rigsby was far from finished.

From there, it was off to the races.

The following two decades were spent perfecting operations, developing teams, adding locations, and expanding into new markets.

Then came the Lifetime Achievement Award for Rigsby for becoming the largest franchisee in the Bojangles system. Rigsby grew the business from six restaurants in 2001 to more than 120 locations across six states.

After selling 120 restaurants, he bought locations in Spartanburg and opened several restaurants in the Sparkle City, including Risby’s Classic Rock Cafe.
