Milton Barrels Down on S. C. Coast
Meteorologists warn that Hurricane Milton is barreling down on the South Carolina coast. It is scheduled to hit the coast Thursday night.

The National Hurricane Center said Milton presents an “extremely life-threatening situation,” for parts of Florida. Damaging winds and torrential rainfall will extend well inland.
Milton has rapidly intensified. It wallops sustained winds of 180 mph. While the storm is expected to weaken by Wednesday night, Milton has the potential to be one of the most destructive hurricanes on record for west-central Florida, said John Cangialosi, of the National Hurricane Center.

It is still not possible to pinpoint the exact location of landfall. However, Milton is forecast to cross the state in a northeasterly direction, exiting the east coast somewhere between Daytona Beach and Stuart on Thursday morning.
