Mary is Finally Off the Streets and Homeless No More

I spent 15 years homeless. I got married and had two children while on the streets. I’m Mary, and this is my story.
Bossy Bob forced himself on me and won’t leave me alone. He was also homeless. Bob demanded that we get married. Our relationship was a poor alternative to loneliness and despair. In fact, with Bob in my life, my miseries only increased.

Then things changed for me. After I gave birth to Terrance, my second son, there were many medical complications and he died in a hospital.
I sued the hospital for malpractice and wrongful death and won. The attorney took his third, and so did my estranged husband. But my portion was enough to pay cash for a modest single-wide trailer and new furniture and set it up on a small lot just outside of Greenville, SC.
Sure, I also have enough to pay cash for a new car, but I don’t want it now. I’d have to learn how to drive, pay taxes and insurance, and regular maintenance and other overhead. So, I just use Lift and Uber to get to work at a nursing home where I’m a nursing aide.
I love my new life. I got a divorce, so there’s no Bossy Bob in my life anymore. My surviving son is an adult, and he has his own place. I live comfortably, and I pamper my nephews and nieces, especially during the holidays.
In my case, keeping me off the streets is easier with a nest egg, a regular paycheck, a roof over my head, and a peaceful and quiet life at home. There is no lure of life on the streets.
I’m Mary. My story has a peaceful ending.
