The 10,000-seat multi-use sports and entertainment stadium will be built one parking lot away from Mauldin’s European-inspired plaza, Bridgeway station.

The stadium is anticipated to open sometime in 2026, as the overall project is estimated to cost between $80 and $100 million.

Ronaldinho, the newest member of the team ownership, was in attendance at the event. He said some called him crazy for participating in this business venture, but “crazy me, I’m here in front of you now.”

Doug Erwin said, “This is transformative for pro sports in the Upstate.” He is a chief brand officer for Triumph.

The stadium will be across from Spectrum headquarters and Cottage Mill Luxury Apartments.

Judging from the size of the crowd that gathered to get a glimpse of soccer-great Ronaldinho, there is strong support for this venture.

The parking lot was full, and there was barely a standing room, only near the tent where the speakers were seated.
