Greenvillle Public Works to be on Emergency Operations

The City of Greenville Public Works is opening its Emergency Operations Center at 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, with full crews on 12-hour shifts to manage expected sleet and freezing, according to a statement it posted.

Service Disruptions: City Community Centers, the Greenville Zoo, and Greenlink transit services are closed or suspended.
Infrastructure: Potential for power outages is high due to ice accumulation on lines.
Emergency Shelter: A family shelter with pet support is open at Hillcrest High School, 3665 S Industrial Dr, Simpsonville.
