Finally you can find your way into the lucrative IT field.
Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina will host a job fair aimed at professionals in the information technology sphere Aug. 7, 3-5 p.m., at 2550 N. Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville.
The nonprofit is working to bridge employment gaps in the tech field. The South Carolina Council on Competitiveness reported more than 50% growth in the field since 2020, with over 143,011 IT employees in the state as of 2024. The industry makes a $51.7 billion annual impact on the state’s economy.
Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume and dress professionally.
In addition to the job fair, the nonprofit’s new campus Goodwill on the Trail will incorporate a Career Training Center with a focus on careers in IT. The site will open in August just off Haywood Road with an entrance to the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail’s Green Line Extension.
