"Fantastic" is how leaders describe the new Park View complex in Greer

Reno Deaton, Greer’s Assistant City Administrator, called the new Park View Greer complex “fantastic” for the Community’s Economic Development.

Last week’s unveiling of the 257-unit Park View Greer complex, situated along North Main Street next to the Hampton Inn, has caused quite a stir.

“It’s a very cool walkable, mixed-use development. And it adds a 24-hour population to downtown, which is very important for our merchants,” said Deaton.

The apartment complex features amenities such as a coffee bar, pool, and fitness center. The development also includes space for retail.

“From the beginning, our vision for Park View Greer was to create something truly special — a place where modern living meets the unique spirit of downtown Greer,” said Keith Eades, owner and managing partner of Idea River Development, in a news release.

Leasing at the complex is handled by the NHE, Inc. property management group.

Deaton said the apartment project enabled the redevelopment of 10 parcels with blighted or underutilized buildings. This enabled Idea River Development to qualify for tax credits for abandoned buildings.

Located between Greenville and Spartanburg, the Greer area has seen explosive residential growth in recent decades.

Its downtown district is smaller than Spartanburg’s – and much smaller than Greenville’s. Nonetheless, the city’s urban center has become increasingly popular for shoppers and diners.

Now Greer has a first-of-its-kind residential community in the downtown mix – an important addition, said Mayor Rick Danner.

In a prepared statement, Danner said, “Park View Greer represents the kind of smart, forward-thinking development that strengthens our city’s economic foundation while enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Its presence in the heart of Greer reinforces our vision of a vibrant, walkable downtown where people can live, work, and connect.”
