Converse University Announces New Tristees

Converse University announces four new members to its Board of Trustees. They are Nakia Martin Alexander, Walter Goldsmith, Cary Perkins, and Ann Richardson.

Nakia Martin Alexander

Nakia Martin Alexander is a distinguished federal law enforcement, fraud, and compliance executive who currently serves as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), Southeast Field Office.


Alexander brings to Converse a wealth of executive leadership experience, strategic insight, and a longstanding commitment to advancing the University’s legacy, mission, and future growth.


Walter Goldsmith

Walter Goldsmith, based in Charlotte, NC, is the CEO of First Tryon Advisors, a financial advisory firm that supports local governments, colleges and universities, K-12 schools, and not-for-profits.



Cary Perkins

A licensed architect and partner with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture (MPS), Executive Director of Design Cary Perkins has specific expertise in strategic campus planning and the design of long-life buildings on K-12 and college and university campuses. As a member of the firm’s senior management team, she provides leadership in design process and strategy, supporting the delivery of high-quality, innovative projects born of a collaborative culture shared by over 500 team members across 11 studio locations.


Anne Richardson Seabrook

Anne Richardson Seabrook is a dedicated alumna and longtime volunteer leader whose commitment to Converse University spans more than four decades. A triple major in Accounting, French, and Economics, she has had a diverse professional career that included teaching English in a public high school in Paris, working in accounting at Michelin’s corporate office in Greenville, and serving as a Certified Public Accountant with Ernst & Whinney in Columbia.
