Authorities Arrest Man for Killing of Clemson Footballer

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies announced an arrest in the shooting death of Diondre Overton, former Clemson football player.

Guilford Country Sheriff S. H. Rogers Tuesday said that a warrant was signed for Jeremiah D. Blanks, 20, who was arrested in Michigan.
Overton was killed on September 7 at a party in his hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina. Overton had been an acclaimed wide receiver at Clemson.
Authorities said that Overton was pronounced dead at the scene despite immediate medical attention.
